Ron serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FarmLink. Ron has spent more than 40 years pioneering new opportunities for traditional and emerging industries as a corporate executive, entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He brings a unique perspective to FarmLink’s leadership team that was achieved through diverse executive leadership experiences and spanning the full spectrum of company development.
In addition to his role with FarmLink, Ron is the managing director and co-founder of OpenAir Equity Partners, where he recognizes innovation and guides up-and-coming companies in successfully applying technology in the marketplace. Prior to starting OpenAir Equity Partners, he spent decades in senior leadership roles with Sprint (President and COO), AT&T and Southwestern Bell, working in an environment known for innovation and budding technologies. As the first employee and CEO of Sprint PCS, Ron guided the company from start-up to $10B in annual revenue faster than any company in U.S. history. After leaving Sprint in 2003, Ron became a partner with Ripplewood Holdings, where he helped orchestrate the turn-around of Japan Telecom as its CEO. Ron also was instrumental in the formation of GoGo Inflight Internet Services, the leading broadband in-flight Internet service, serving as CEO and now Chairman. He currently serves on the boards of Allstate (ALL), GoGo Inflight Internet Services, HYLA Mobile and MachineryLink.
Scott is the President of FarmLink. Scott brings to FarmLink 28 years of experience in the commodities industry, where he has focused on growth opportunities, acquisition, data analytics and technological innovation. Most recently, he was a Senior Partner at Oliver Wyman, a known leader in benchmarking, and was responsible for their North American Corporate Finance and Advisory practice.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Scott was a member of the management team at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), where he led strategy and acquisitions during a period of growth from $3.5B to over $8.5B in market capitalization. Before and after working for the CME, he was a Partner and Senior Advisor at McKinsey & Company, serving in various practice groups, including the Business Technology Office. Previously he worked for Reuters, Dow Jones/Telerate and NeXT Computer.
Scott’s knowledge of commodities, technology and data analytics helps ensure that FarmLink stays focused on our mission of providing farmers with high-tech tools to meet their business goals. In addition to his role at FarmLink, Scott owns a family farm in Virginia.
Bob serves as FarmLink’s Chief Data Scientist, leading the company’s data analytics programs and the TrueHarvest development team. He has more than 25 years’ experience developing and leading data analysis platforms. Prior to joining FarmLink, he served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Mirant Corporation in Atlanta.
In his role, Bob led development of the global technology infrastructure for one of the largest commercial energy operations, designing and implementing an industry-leading risk management system that was the foundation for Mirant’s global power plant operations. As part of this effort, Bob developed a fully integrated enterprise application that allowed the seamless and secure flow of information from one system to another. Additionally, he managed the creation of advanced asset valuation models across multiple portfolios.
Bob also served as the Senior Officer responsible for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP) compliance program, which ensures the security of electronically exchanged data supporting power grid reliability, and served on Mirant’s Model and Risk Oversight Committees.
Bob is the Vice President of Data Security, Infrastructure and Engineering for FarmLink. Bob has extensive experience managing and supporting secure technologies and services, including network and security infrastructure and architecture, security/privacy regulatory compliance, security risk management, industrial control systems security and IT infrastructure.
Prior to joining FarmLink in 2012, he directed all information security for GenOn (formerly Mirant), establishing security strategies for one of the largest global commercial energy operations in the country. Prior to that, he served as Mirant’s Director of IT Infrastructure, successfully managing the increasingly complex infrastructure during the company’s rapid global growth from IPO to Fortune #52. Bob is CISSP, CISM, and GSEC certified and a former member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
